"All Quiet on the Discussion Front" focuses on the fact that many ESL students are more likely to respond to blogs than to orally participate in class. This is not surprising since they may be timid.
Teachers need to make special efforts to understand the context of the individual student and to encourage him or her to participate both online and in class.
